The provincial deputy Hugo Passalacqua was elected as governor of Misiones this Sunday, May 7 with Lucas Romero Spinelli as his running mate. In this way, the Concord Renovation Front maintains its hegemony following twenty years in power in the province while Passalacqua will occupy the local executive for the second time.

The Renewing Front for Harmony, which brings together Peronists and local parties, first came to power in 2003. Before this year’s elections, 77 of the 78 municipalities were governed by the ruling party. Although the party maintains its independence at the provincial level, it was an ally during the Kirchner administration.

Passalacqua opted for a non-traditional campaign close. The classic imprint of act or caravan was avoided. For this reason, he released a video on the networks asking for support. “Today I feel that it is more important than ever that we be close, united. The support of you, the missionary family, is key for us to continue growing,” she said. For his part, the outgoing governor, Oscar Herrera Ahuad, headed the list of provincial deputies.
