Who is Guillermo Hang, the new Secretary of Commerce | Replaces Roberto Feletti

The current director of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic, Guillermo Hang, will assume as Secretary of Commerce of the Nation replacing Roberto Feletti. Hang has a long history in public service, having worked in different areas of the Ministry of Economy between 2008 and 2015.

Hang, 39, was a fellow student of the current head of the Palacio de Hacienda, and is degree in economics of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of La Plata. Very close to Guzmán, he shared his last trip to Brazil to negotiate on energy supply and is considered one of his main advisors.

Hang’s career in the public sector

At the Ministry of Economy, he was an advisor to the Minister Unit between the periods 2012-2013 and 2019-2020.

In the area of ​​the Secretariat of Economic Policy, he worked in the National Directorate of Public Investment, in the Directorate of Models and Projections and in the National Directorate of Strategies for Development in the periods 2008-2010 and 2014-2016.

He also served as a consultant to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), one of the five institutions that make up the World Bank Group; of the Ministry of the Interior, Public Works and Housing (2016-2017) and of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Ministry of Economy of the Nation (2008).

Academic and private field

In the academic field, he was a researcher and guest researcher at the Center for Economics and Finance for Development of Argentina (CEFID-AR, 2010-2015) and wrote academic papers for various study centers.

Finally, he carried out independent consulting work for the private sector and the public sector (2016-2019).

The new official will have this Tuesday the first working meeting as Secretary of Domestic Trade with entrepreneurs from the energy sector to analyze the current subsidy scheme and future service rates.

Agustín D’Attellis to the Central Bank

Meanwhile, the economist Agustín D’Attellis will assume as Director of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic in replacement of Guillermo Hang. With a long career in public and private functions, D’Attellis served as an advisor in different areas of the Ministry of Economy and in the legislative sphere, and as a consultant in the private sphere. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master’s degree in economics from the Torcuato Di Tella University.
