Good news stands out in the world of science and involves a group of Peruvian students who have been participating in a contest of the NASA whose purpose is the development of new technologies for planning future missions and manned space missions to other worlds. Who are the students from Piura who participate in this competition? In this note we tell you all the details you should know regarding it.
WHO ARE THE PIURAN STUDENTS WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE NASA COMPETITION
A group of students from the University of Piura (UDEP) was selected by NASA to participate in the contest Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC), a space agency project that encourages research and development of new technologies for future mission planning and manned space missions to other worlds.
Under this context, UDEP university studentsthey must present a vehicle that can be mobilized on the surface of Mars, transporting two people inside.
In this event, 61 research teams from different houses of study around the world take part. UDEP and the National University of Engineering will represent Peru on this occasion.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NASA
The NASA It is the US government agency responsible for the civil space program, as well as for aeronautics and aerospace research. In 1958, President Dwight Eisenhower founded the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) with a strongly civilian, rather than military, orientation, promoting the peaceful applications of space science.
On July 29, 1958, the National Space and Aeronautics Law was approved, thus destabilizing the predecessor of the NASA, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). On October 1 of that year the new agency began to function.
Since then most of the space exploration efforts of USA have been led by the NASAincluding the Apollo moon landing missions, the Skylab space station, and later the space shuttle.
By the year 2020, the NASA is supporting the International Space Station and overseeing development of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, the Space Launch System, and Commercial Crew Development vehicles.
The NASA He is also responsible for the Launch Services Program (LSP), which provides oversight services for launch operations and management of the agency’s unmanned launch countdown.
The science that uses NASA focuses on a better understanding of Earth through the Earth Observing System (EOS), advancing heliophysics through the efforts of the Science Mission Directorate’s Heliophysics Research Program, exploring bodies throughout the solar system with advanced robotic missions like New Horizons and investigate astrophysics issues like the Big Bang through the Great Observatories and associated programs.
Important to note that the NASA shares information with various national and international organizations, such as the Ibuki satellite of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
