Which artists have won the most Grammys?
The 2022 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, April 3rd. Justin Bieber and Doja Cat are among the favorites this year. But who has actually won the Grammys most often? And who received the most awards in one evening? We show the record holders.
A week following the Oscars, the biggest film award in the world, the ceremony for the biggest music award takes place. The 64th Grammys will be celebrated on April 3, 2022 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and not traditionally in Los Angeles. Once once more, comedian and actor Trevor Noah will host and present the show. The most important nominees this time include Jon Batiste with eleven nominations, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and HER with eight nominations each. But who has won the Grammy the most times so far?
The Hungarian-British orchestra and opera conductor Georg Solti is the undisputed leader of the record winners. He was able to win the award 31 times, most recently in 1997 for “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” as the best opera recording. The late Solti was nominated for a Grammy a further 74 times in his career. They are followed by Quincy Jones and Beyoncé, each with 28 awards. The singer last won the award in 2021 and is the most awarded woman at the Grammy Awards. Composer Pierre Boulez and singer and violinist Alison Krauss share third place. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, holds the record for the most awards in one night. He received a total of eight awards in 1984, including single of the year (“Beat It”) and best album of the year (“Thriller”). The singer Santana was also able to win eight times. When it comes to music groups, U2 is at the forefront. The band around frontman Bono has so far taken home 22 Grammys.
