Who are the people who get vaccinated in Martinique?

What is the profile of people who get vaccinated in Martinique? Public Health France conducted a study. An observation in Martinique: vaccination is less important than in France. The entry into force of the vaccination pass from March 7, 2022 is arousing many debates. A link between average per capita income and vaccination seems to be emerging.

As of February 9, 2022, according to Public Health France, over seven rolling days, 99.2% of people sick with Covid were infected with the Omicron variant.

On the same date, 46.1% of the population over the age of 12, i.e. 145,869 people, received at least one injection.

During weeks 1 to 15 in 2021, that is to say from January 1 until mid-April, it is very mainly that the first doses have been carried out. A slight increase in vaccinations occurs during this period.

From week 27, vaccination reaches an unprecedented peak, specifies Public Health France. More than 12,000 people a week get vaccinated.

the end of the peak corresponds with the start of the third dose. The start is sluggish. If at the beginning of December, only 4,000 people attend the vaccination centers, it is mainly regarding the booster dose, essential for obtaining the vaccination schedule.

Before the end-of-year celebrations, there was an attendance of 11,000 people during week 49, including 3,000 for the first or second dose.

Since the start of the vaccination numbers are down. The first week of January was prosperous with more than 10,000 people vaccinated. Since then the numbers have been dropping. During the first week of February, approximately 5,000 people were vaccinated.

Children from 5 to 11 years old are very little vaccinated. 0.9% of them received the first dose and 0.4 the second specifies Santé Public France.

29.5% of adolescents aged 12 to 17 received the first dose, 27.4% the second and 2.4% the third.

44.7% of young adults aged 18 to 29 received the first dose, 41.4% the second and 13.6% the third.

47% of 30 to 64 year olds received the first dose, 45.1% the second and 23% the third.

39.7% of people aged 80 and over received the first dose, 37.9% the second and 22.5% the third.

The population as a whole seems to have a distrust of the third dose.

The municipality with the vaccination coverage rate, i.e. the percentage of the population over 12 years old vaccinated with 2 doses, Trois-Ilets is between 60 and 70%.

There appears to be a link between average per capita income and vaccination. The higher it is, the more important the vaccination is.
