The platform is open for the submission of applications for the Youth Pass with the aim of financial support of 150 euros to young people who have reached either the 18th or the 19th year of their age from 1.1.2023 to 31.12.2023.

The deadline for submitting applications for the new Youth Pass is May 15. A necessary condition, for the beneficiary to receive the financial aid, is to submit a timely application to the relevant application by logging in using the credential codes (taxisnet) on the gov.gr website.

The Youth Pass is a measure to encourage and access young people to cultural events, to strengthen Greek tourism, as well as to familiarize young people with the use of electronic transactions.

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries of the Youth Pass are tax residents of Greece, who have reached the age of 18 or 19 within the year preceding the application and submit an application on the platform

It is emphasized that there are no property or income criteria. The application is submitted once and is not resubmitted following the beneficiary turns 19.

However, if, for whatever reason, a young person does not apply when they are 18, they can do so when they turn 19, receiving the benefit only for the second year and not retrospectively.

The credit process

The aid is credited in the form of a digital debit card, which will be sent to the credit institutions by Friday, May 31. It is noted that there may be a delay of 1-2 working days until the beneficiaries receive the aid.

They will then be able to use it in businesses active in the fields of culture, tourism and transport.

In the first year of the program’s implementation, until the end of 2023, around 140,000 young people received support totaling almost €21 million.

After submitting the application, the credit institution or financial organization informs the beneficiary regarding the first activation of the card and the crediting of the amount of money via text message (sms) or e-mail message (e-mail) with an embedded link to activate the card digital debit card.

Beneficiaries can then use the support they will receive to make purchases or receive services from businesses active in the fields of tourism (e.g. in tourist accommodation), culture (e.g. to attend theater performances or concerts, for the purchase of books, etc.) and transportation (taxi, buses, trains, ferry – plane tickets or for the rental of cars or pleasure boats, etc.).
