Who are at risk of a fine of 1,500 euros due to IRIS

However, approximately 170,000 professionals have not yet installed the system in question and thus risk fines of 1500 euros.

However, from tomorrow – in theory – the customer dealing with a freelancer will be able to ask him to pay with IRIS.

Based on the data of the DIAS company, the users of the system now exceed 3.15 million.

Already, 545,000 professionals have installed the system on a total of 715,000 debtors with a professional account. But only 16% are active users.

However, the activation of the service for both citizens and professionals is done digitally and easily, through the web banking or mobile banking of the cooperating banks.

More specifically:

The self-employed person, through his bank’s Internet Banking: Selects the IRIS Payments service from the Services section in Internet Banking. Declares his customer identification number (TIN).

Connects the business account to which the money received through IRIS Payments will be credited. Upon completing his registration for the service, the company’s unique QR code is generated, which he can share with his customers to scan and make payments to his business.

It is reminded that the IBAN chosen by professionals and self-employed persons during their registration must have been declared in the Register of Professional Accounts of AADE, in the digital portal myAADE (myaade.gov.gr) in the path Applications > Tax Services > Professional Account.

Payments through IRIS can be made from the customer’s mobile phone, by scanning a QR code, or by means of RF payment codes (a fairly common method in electricity, telephone, utility bills, etc.) or through the IRIS e-commerce service, if it is online stores.
