“The Eternaut”the series that adapts the emblematic cartoon by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López, It has already started filming in Buenos Aires, reported Netflix through a statement accompanied by the first images of Ricardo Darín as its protagonist, Juan Salvo.
With address of director Bruno Stagnaroand co-scripted between him and fellow actor Ariel Staltari, It was learned today that the series will have six episodes and that, together with Darín -whose protagonist recognized the platform a few days ago following the actor himself filtered it-, will be on screen Carla Peterson, César Troncoso, Andrea Pietra, Ariel Staltari, Marcelo Subiotto, Claudio Martínez Bel, Orianna Cárdenas and Mora Fisz, among other actors and actresses.
Produced by K&S, the adaptation of the iconic title will be “a contemporary version” that takes up the classic plot.
The official synopsis is as follows: “After a deadly snowfall that kills millions, Juan Salvo along with a group of survivors fight once morest an alien threat, controlled by an invisible force.”
Precisely, in the small advance that Netflix published on its networks and its YouTube channelyou can see the first images of Darín, walking in a desolate post-apocalyptic snowy Buenos Aires area, with a shotgun in his hands and wrapped in the recognizable homemade suit that covers every inch of his skin from the lethal substances of the invaders.
Regarding the start of filming, which takes place from today in various locations and sets in Buenos Aires, the director of “Pizza, birra, faso”, “Okupas” and “Un gallo para Esculapio” shared his vision for the series.
“For me ‘El Eternauta’ represents my old man bringing me the weekly installments of comics. I think it was one of the first things I read in its entirety in my life, at the age of 10, and it had a profound influence on my way of understanding fiction made in my country,” Stagnaro told the press.
“The sensation that that first reading left me -he continued- accompanied me throughout my life and, in some way, it had a great influence on what I did later… where the city is a living presence, almost like one more character”.
In addition, he said he believes that “part of the charm” of making this production is “understanding how to go through the technical difficulty involved in building the world in which it happens.”: “This will be an unusual challenge for our industry and that is something that personally motivates me a lot because I feel that it can establish a precedent so that later it is no longer so difficult to face this type of project in our country”.

Years ago we worked on the development of this project to make sure that it was up to the quality of the work”.
He also expanded Martín M. Oesterheld, grandson of the author of the original workwho participates as a creative consultant for this series, and spoke of the “true challenge for the entire Argentine audiovisual medium” that the proposal implies: “Science fiction with a local look, from this ‘Southern Hemisphere that is also part of the planet’, my dearest grandfather would say”, he maintained.
