Young prodigy Connor Bedard continued to add to his season with a one-goal performance and three assists in the Regina Pats’ 6-5 win over the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday night.
With his goal in the middle of the first period, Bedard approached a net of the plateau of 60 goals during the current campaign. He has 59 goals and 123 points in just 47 games this season, averaging 2.61 points per game.
With his performance of four points, Bedard broke the mark achieved by Connor McDavid at the same age, but in the OHL. In his draft year, McDavid had finished his season with 44 goals and 120 points in 47 games.
It’s already the 13th time this season that Bedard has amassed at least four points in a game.
Meanwhile, Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson picked up two assists in a 2-0 win over the Boston University Terriers. He has 12 goals and 43 points this season.
