White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki assured on Wednesday that Russia “It has already lost” the war with Ukraine and has stated that following the invasion of the neighboring country, the Russians have not managed to divide NATO.
“The Russians have already lost. They have not taken control of the Ukraine. President Putin will not parade through the streets of kyiv, they will not possess the territorial integrity and sovereignty of this country and they have not divided NATO”, Psaki stated at a press conference.
Similarly, he has said that “President Putin’s way of defining winning a war that he started from the beginning was to seize Ukraine, engulf Ukraine in Russia, take away its territorial integrity and its sovereignty and clearly, that has not been successful”.
Likewise, the White House spokeswoman has reiterated that the United States will “do everything it can to help Ukraine defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and to strengthen the Ukrainians on the battlefield and at the negotiating table”.
In his opinion, Ukraine is “defending its homeland with courage and courage from the continuous attacks of the Russians and they are going to define at the negotiating table what they consider success on the battlefield.”
“Now what we are doing is strengthening Ukraine at the negotiating table, by supplying weapons on the battlefield and supporting whatever needs they have,” Psaki told a news conference.
On the other hand, US State Department spokesman Ned Price has urged Russia to continue letting civilians out of the besieged city of Mariupol, where civilians are still trapped.
“In recent days, there have been more than a hundred people who have been able to reach safety as far as Zaporizhia. But there are still hundreds of people who are trapped in the steelworks and there are thousands of people in the besieged city of Mariupol who have been subjected to bombing and violence once more. We have to let people out and let humanitarian aid in”, Price stressed at a press conference.
In early April, the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, Oleksei Danilov, warned of the possibility of a new Russian offensive for May 9, as it is a “sacred” day for Moscow.
Price has said that this day is important and “It is significant for all of Europe and also for the United States, (since it is) the anniversary of the defeat of the advance of Nazi Germany at the end of World War II”.
“The position that the United States will have on that day will be the same as it has been until now, which is to support our Ukrainian partners in many different ways, to hold the Kremlin accountable, and to do so with allies and partners around the world”, he specified.
