More than ten years following the last episode, Diablo finally makes its big comeback with a fourth opus awaited at the turn. It must be said that recently, the Blizzard saga had been controversial with Diablo Immortal, its free-to-play version on PC and mobiles whose economic model was problematic. Inevitably, the pressure is heavy on the shoulders of Diablo IV and from the first feedback from the press, the title seems to have succeeded in its bet. With a Metacritic rating of 88, Blizzard’s latest hack’n’slash is shaping up to be a new genre benchmark. While the game is scheduled for June 6, some will be able to play it on Friday thanks to the early access to an edition of the game. But if the wait is long for the license, an available Netflix film has something to offer keep fans hooked.
Lillith, demonic figure
Released in 2021, The Devil’s Chapel is a horror film directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos. We follow the adventures of Gerry Fenn, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who is a disgraced journalist who seeks to revive his career. To do so, he discovers that in a small town in New England, a young deaf girl would have managed to hear and speak following the apparition of the Virgin Mary who would have healed her. Inevitably, such a supernatural phenomenon attracts many people who want to witness other miracles and this therefore makes a perfect subject for our journalist on the descent.
However, as Gerry Fenn investigates, terrible events will take place, which will push him to question the origin of these various prodigies. Are they of divine or infernal nature? This is the whole point of the feature film. Where Evan Spiliotopoulos’ film approaches Diablo is that it raises the question of whether there might not be an equivalent to the Virgin Mary in the world of demons who might be embodied by the figure by Lillith. We let you discover the answer yourself since the feature film is available on Netflix.
