A Qualcomm has just announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the third generation of the new processing unit for mobile devices. Several companies have stated that they will use Qualcomm’s new processor in the next smartphones or series of smartphones, among the brands are ASUS, Honor, iQOO, Meizu, NIO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE. Qualcomm’s announcement reported that the new Snapdragon has better energy efficiency, around 20%, in addition to 30% better performance. The GPU also gained 25% and Ray Tracing was improved by 40%. The new Qualcomm Hexagon NPU is 98% faster and 40% more efficient. This chip also supports 8K external display and supports Unreal Engine 5 with the Lumen lighting system.
