A study conducted by the Avtostat Info agency showed that the most common car in Russia is the VAZ-2107, numbering 1.26 million copies. In second place in popularity is Kia Rio with 1.02 million cars. The top five also includes VAZ-2109 with one million cars, Lada 2121 Niva (956.5 thousand) and Lada Granta (932.3 thousand). Among car brands, Lada is the leader with 12.28 million cars in Russia. It is followed by Toyota with 3.78 million and Kia with 2.62 million vehicles. Last year, the most popular new car was the Lada Granta, sales of which reached 191,074 units. In second place was the Chinese crossover Haval Jolion with a result of 48,980 cars, and the Lada Niva family closed the top three with 46,850 cars sold. In general, sales of new passenger cars in Russia in 2023 increased by 69%, reaching 1,059,000 units.
