Which apps have Google deleted from the search engine? The alarming situation was dealt with

The world’s largest search engine Google has banned 25 mobile apps for stealing login details of social networking site Facebook.

These apps have been removed from the Play Store and earlier this February Google banned 600 apps.

Cybersecurity firm Avena issued an alert to Google after which Google immediately removed the Android apps from the Play Store. The apps contained a system that recorded your Facebook login details when you used your phone.

According to the report, the apps were downloaded two million times. Some of the apps Google removed from its Play Store included photo editing, video editing, wallpapers, flashlight applications, file managers and mobile games.

Among them, Super Wallpapers Torch and Padnetif were the only apps that were downloaded 500,000 times. These apps contained codes that could be used to determine which app was open.

All these apps were reported to Google in May 2020 and the company removed them earlier this month. Although the Play Store has become a bit safer after the removal of these apps, a question still remains as to how these types of apps find their place on the Play Store despite Google’s strict app approval process.
