One Breathtaking Night: The Devil’s Dead (1981)
One Breathtaking Night: The Devil’s Death is a film that marked the debut of legendary director Sam Raimi, best known later for directing the Spider-Man trilogy. With a minimal budget for the time, the film laid the groundwork for the rest of the saga, which became one of the most beloved horror franchises by the public. One Nightmare 2 (1987)
One Breathtaking Night 2 is a horror film that fits both as a sequel and a remake of its predecessor. The protagonist Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) returns and must face a horde of demons hungry for human flesh that were summoned by the Necronomicon in a remote cabin in the middle of the forest. However, director Sam Raimi opted for a different approach this time around, turning the film into a horror comedy.

One Nightmare 3 (1993)
One Breathtaking Night 3 is yet another testament to director Sam Raimi’s genius for expanding his horror franchise. In this third film, Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) is transported to the year 1300, where he embarks on a medieval adventure once morest the undead. The premise is innovative and adds a new dimension to the franchise, showing the versatility of the universe created by Raimi. Despite having less gore than its predecessors, the film still manages to keep the fun and makes good use of its budget and technical limitations.

Demon Death (2013)
The Demon’s Death is a reincarnation of the “Evil Dead” franchise and might be considered a more serious remake of the first film. Though absent from Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), the film maintains the premise of a group of young friends who are faced with brutal demonic possession following discovering the Book of the Dead (or Necronomicon) in a remote cabin deep in the woods. Unlike previous films, this film has a more serious tone, exploring addiction and mental illness, which works surprisingly well alongside an extreme level of violence, possibly the highest in the franchise.

Ten years following the last film, A Demon Death: The Ascension is a horror film that marks the return of the iconic “Evil Dead” franchise.
