We have to rent trucks and transport the chicken to the municipalities ourselves. Obviously, we are not going to buy more chicken until they fix this madness,” a private seller from Holguín told Diario de Cuba.

Recently, the government acknowledged that the price cap on products such as cooking oil and chicken meat, among others, on the island, has “scared” products off the shelves of small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs).

Is there chicken in MLC stores? Through Envíos Cuba, in Havana stores, there is chicken in stock today. For example, a whole 1.5 kg chicken costs 8.26 USD, a 15 kilo box of quartered chicken costs more than 40 USD and that was even though it suffered a “discount”, according to the offer.
