Samsung Electronics’ shareholders’ meeting, which has more than 5 million ‘Donghak Ant’ shareholders, will be held at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi Province on the 16th.
As in previous years, the electronic voting system will be implemented, and in consideration of the prevention of COVID-19, online broadcasting will be conducted in parallel this year as in last year.
Samsung Electronics conducted electronic voting to exercise their voting rights online until 5 p.m. the previous day, and also received pre-registration for shareholders who wish to watch online.
At the general shareholders’ meeting, agenda items such as appointment of inside and outside directors, appointment of audit committee members, and approval of directors’ remuneration limits are proposed.
Samsung Electronics’ DS division head Kye-hyung, MX division head Roh Tae-moon, DX division manager Hak-gyu Park, and memory business division head Jeong-bae Lee will be newly appointed as internal directors.
In addition, the agenda of re-appointing Han-jo Kim, chairman of the Hana Financial Public Interest Foundation as an outside director, and the appointment of Han Hwa-jin, chair professor at the National Institute of Science and Technology Human Resources Development, and Kim Jun-seong, managing director of the Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) are also proposed.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, will also hold a general meeting of shareholders on the same day.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics proposes an agenda for appointment of internal and external directors, limits on director remuneration, and an agenda for approval of last year’s financial statements.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics President Jang Deok-hyeon and Samsung Electro-Mechanics Office Manager Seong-jin Kim were appointed as new inside directors.
