Why there are discounts on products
Unexpected reasons for lower prices.
Grocery stores are constantly running promotions and discounts on products. Many buyers are sure: this is no accident.
Indeed, one of the reasons to “drop” 20, 30 and even 50% of the initial price is the expiring expiration date. It is unprofitable for commodity outlets to dispose of the missing products; it is better to sell them cheaper. But there are many other reasons for stocks.
Manufacturer’s initiative. To draw attention to a new brand, the company often makes a discount on it. A store visitor sees an unusual product, a low price tag, a promotion – he takes the product once, twice, then gets used to it and begins to purchase it at full price.
Resale. This is a marketing technique when the price of one product is underestimated very much. For example, salmon is sold not for 1,500 rubles per kilogram, but for only 500 rubles.
