In March 2024, the U-20 team Guatemala secured their qualification to the group stage of the Concacaf World Cup following overcoming the preliminary round, eliminating Curacao, Aruba, Barbados and Saint-Martin.
The corresponding draw placed the blue and white in the same group as Mexico, Panama and Haiti; where the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals in the knockout phase of the Concacaf Pre-World Cup.
The group stage will take place at the Sergio León Chávez Stadium, located in the city of Irapuato, Mexico. Guatemala’s first match will be on Sunday, July 21 once morest Panama, then on Wednesday, July 24 once morest Mexico and finally on Saturday, July 27 once morest Haiti.
The bicolor team has just qualified for its second U-20 World Cup, following having participated in the 2023 edition in Argentina, where the national team failed to score points following suffering three defeats in the first round.

The Guatemalan national team’s matches in the U-20 World Cup can be watched through the streaming service streaming Disney Plus+which has a monthly cost of US$10.49, and for our country, the equivalent price would be Q81.55 according to the exchange rate reported by the Bank of Guatemala.
Only the four of us semifinalists from the Concacaf championship will qualify for the 2025 U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Chile for the second time in the history of the tournament, following the 1987 edition.

In the 2022 U-20 World Cup, the Bicolor eliminated the Mexican team in the quarter-final round, and on this occasion the North American team will have the opportunity to take revenge with the help of its fans, who will surely pack the stadium.
For its part, Guatemala is seeking its third qualification for a U-20 World Cup, following participating in Colombia 2011 and Argentina 2023, where it has only been able to advance to the round of 16 on one occasion.
