Where and when will the first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump be?

The presidential debate between Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and her Republican counterpart Donald Trump, It will be held on Tuesday, September 10 at 7 p.m. (Guatemala time) (01:00 GMT on Wednesday 11) at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), the organizing network reported on Friday, August 16 ABC.

The face to face between the candidates, which will also be broadcast on their thematic channel ABC News Live and on the Disney+ and Hulu platforms, will be moderated by David Muir, presenter and editor-in-chief of World News Tonightand by Linsey Davis, host of Prime in the same ABC News Live.

The National Constitution Center is a private, nonprofit institution, located just steps from where the U.S. Constitution was drafted and signed, that serves as the platform for promoting nonpartisan constitutional study and debate.

On the other hand, the special before the debate Race for the White House will be hosted by Martha Raddatz, the chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor of This Week; Jonathan Karl, the chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of This Week; White House correspondent Mary Bruce; and Congressional reporter Rachel Scott.

The format of the face-to-face has not yet been revealed, but the network announced that, to participate, “all participants must accept the rules” without any impediment.

In addition, “participants must achieve at least 15% support in four independent national surveys of registered voters,” they indicated from ABC.

The decision on whether the candidates meet the requirements and are therefore eligible to participate in the debate will be made after September 3, 2024.

Former President Trump (2017-2021) proposed a week ago to face the current Vice President Harris in three debates – on September 4, 10 and 25 – even proposing that they take place on different networks –Fox, ABC y NBC– instead of just the one ABC; the only one confirmed so far.

Also, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and his Republican counterpart JD Vance will face each other in another meeting scheduled for October 1 and moderated by CBS News.
