“When you win you stay and when you lose you leave”

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva spoke about the elections in Venezuela on June 28, reporting that he has had two conversations with Nicolas Maduroin which he warned him that if he wants to help solve the problems of growth in Venezuela and facilitate the return of those who have left, he must respect the democratic process.

In a democracy, “the one who loses gets a lot of votes,” and that “Maduro has to learn that when you win you stay, and when you lose you leave and prepare for another election,” Lula said in an interview with foreign correspondents.

According to the Brazilian president, next Sunday’s elections represent “the only opportunity” for Venezuela to “return to normality” and reintegrate into the regional and international community.

“That is what I wish for Venezuela and for all of South America,” he added.
