The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are just a few days away from ending. However, this is an event that is repeated every four years in various world venues.
The history of the Olympics dates back to Ancient Greece. According to historical sources, these types of competitions were held every four years on Mount Olympus, a place that was considered sacred.
Nevertheless, The first edition of the Olympic Games as we know them today was not held until 1896 in Athens, Greece.
Since then, every so often we enjoy a true sporting festival that unites the best of sport worldwide.
When will the next Olympic Games be held?
The next Olympic Games will be held from July 14 to 30, 2028 in Los Angeles, California, according to official information from the Olympic organizing committee. It is also mentioned that the vision for this event is to offer a personalized experience to the athletes, as well as good weather, inspiring views and other possibilities.
For this edition, the incorporation of five new sports was proposed. According to data from the organizing committee, these are baseball-softball, cricket, flag football (a reduced contact version of American football), lacrosse y squash.
However, this proposal is still pending approval by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). What is certain is that we will once again enjoy a great sporting event in four years, as well as the landscapes that California offers us.
