When will the brigand festival end? – MALI24

If the monkey, known to be a devastator of crops, apostrophes the owner of the field, it is because there is a permissive situation, which makes the owner a spectator. It is the reign of the brigands. The situation thus described is well known to Malians since the first Republic when the father of independence Modibo Kéita expressed himself thus: “When the owners become the spectators, it is the festival of the brigands”.

The colorful formula finds, yesterday as today, its perfect illustration in the governance of our country, at different levels. The imposture of some and the resignation of others have paved the way for permissive situations: the civil servant who becomes a billionaire, the economic operator backed by a senior political, administrative or military official, who grant themselves state subsidies to monetize them for their own benefit and to the detriment of the people of Mali; the political leader who uses and abuses the constitutional missions of the party to place his henchmen without competence in positions of responsibility to the detriment of the security and economic stability of the Malian State.

The epidemic of impostures proliferating at all levels, ethnic or community groups are claiming entire regions to the detriment of national unity, social cohesion and the stability of the State. To the point that one can ask the question, namely between the small-time impostors in the administration and the citizens, who are serving whom? If we manage to ask such a question, it is because there is a confusion of roles, a misdeal, a misunderstanding for the populations whose elected authorities should only be servants. If this were understood, there would be no electoral fraud which is the worst crime; irredentist claims would be avoided among the Senoufos south of Sikasso; the Tuaregs of Kidal and the Fulani of Macina would lay down their arms. The gene of the revolt lies in the bad governance and the imposture of the shameless fraudulent leaders, and who pride themselves clumsily! Order must be restored by cutting the knot of political imposture; that the owner ceases to be the spectator so that the festival of the brigands stops.
