Famous filmmakers of India Karan Johar Recently, Shahra has made several interesting revelations regarding the 1960s Afaq film ‘Mughal Azam’.

According to a report in the Indian Express, Karan Johar quoted his father Yash Johar as saying that he is interested in Yagadar directed by Karimuddin Asif (known as Asif). the film were on the set. One day when Mughal-e-Azam was being shot, K Asif suddenly announced a pack-up and did not resume shooting for the next three days.

In a conversation with ‘Film Companion’ magazine, Karan Johar said: ‘My father was on the sets of Mughal-e-Azam. So I have a lot of knowledge regarding the many happenings on the sets, the activities between the director and the actors and so on.’

He added, ‘My father told me regarding an incident of how Asif announced a sudden pack-up just because he didn’t have real ‘attar’.

In fact, they wanted to add real perfume to the pond in one scene of the film so that Madhu Bala Can give beautiful facial expressions under its influence.

Karan Johar said that although the production team filled the pond with water, Karimuddin Asif was not happy and did not agree to start shooting until the actual perfume was arranged. According to him: ‘It’s a production requirement.’

‘You can’t fill a whole pool with real perfume. So the staff said it would take them three days to fill the pool with perfume. They didn’t shoot for three days until that pool was filled with perfume.’

K Asif’s film Mughal Azam is considered one of the best Indian films of all time.

The film is the story of the undying love of Prince Salim of the Mughal Empire and his concubine Anar Kali, when a son rebelled once morest his father, Emperor Akbar. The film starred Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Madhubala in lead roles.

K Asif started this film in 1944 and it took 16 years to complete it.
