The latest weather forecast report a new wave of intense heat for the period, but how long will it last? And when will the “late summer storm“, the disturbance that every year effectively puts an end to the hottest season? The experts at the IlMeteo.it. Well, according to the latest updates we are on the verge of a “change of scenery”: the vortex of cold air expected over Italy has in fact deviated its trajectory and therefore “the first part of next week will also be characterised by heat and sun”, net of the usual thunderstorms on the reliefs. From Friday 30 August the African anticyclone will bring an increase in heat and temperatures with “peaks up to 38-40°C in the Center-South”.
The cyclone has deviated its trajectory, but it will also reach us “aiming towards the Mediterranean basin no earlier than 7/8 September: therefore, only at the end of the first ten days of next month could the end-of-season storm reach our country”, he writes Mattia Gussoni which warns of the possibility of violent and “extreme” meteorological events due to the meeting of cold and warm air masses.
In short, summer will end in Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September? Too early to say. “The American GFS model is not completely consistent with the European one and is a few days ahead (a Wednesday 4th September) the arrival of the disturbance on Italy, foreshadowing a wave of rather intense bad weather, starting from the Center-North”, explains the site again. To have reasonable certainty of the change in weather and the beginning of an autumnal climate we will have to wait for the next few days.
