Mohammad Salah (Liverpool), who allowed Son Heung-min (Tottenham) to be the ‘co-scorer’ in the English Premier League (EPL), congratulated him following three days.
On the 26th (Korean time), Salah retweeted the video of Son Heung-min arriving at Incheon International Airport carrying the ‘Golden Boot’, the top scorer trophy, on Twitter, and wrote ‘Congratulations, Sonny!’
Salah has been the Premier League top scorer for many years. He became the top scorer in the 2017-18 season with 32 goals, an EPL all-time record, and the co-scorer the following season. In the 2019-20 season, he was ranked 5th in the scoring rankings and only 2nd in the following season, but his explosive scoring ability in the 2021-22 season revived and maintained the sole lead.
However, during the second half of the season, he was caught up with Son Heung-min, who gave a ‘back heart’, and had to be content with the co-scorer rather than ‘alone’.
After finishing the league final once morest Wolverhampton last weekend, a photo of Salah showing a gloomy expression even with a ‘Golden Boot’ in his hand was released at the scene. Salah, who seemed to have had his pride broken, finally sent congratulations to Son Heung-min through Twitter following three days.
Salah, who had been rumored to be leaving Liverpool next season to move to another big club, said he would remain with the team.
He said, “I don’t want to talk regarding it,” he said when a question was asked at a press conference ahead of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Real Madrid on the 29th. “I just want to see captain Jordan Henderson lift the trophy,” he said. I will definitely stay for the next season.”
Salah has played for Liverpool since 2017, scoring 156 goals in 253 official matches. Thanks to his goalscoring performance, Liverpool won the 2019-20 EPL season, the 2018-19 UCL championship, the 2021-22 English Football Association (FA) Cup, and the League Cup.
