The newspaper reported that Pele put some things in the closet and asked not to open them until after his death.
With Pele’s death, it will be possible to open the treasury to see its contents, and it is still unclear whether the club will actually agree to that or not, as many expect to turn it into a museum.
The newspaper said that some expect that there will be in the closet a shoe he wore in his last match with Santos, in addition to a possible letter of gratitude to the club in which he spent almost his entire professional career.
Brazilian football legend Pele, considered by many to be the greatest player of all time and a three-time World Cup winner, died at the age of 82 on Thursday.
On Friday, Brazil began national mourning for three days.
