Tip on when is the ideal time to replace vehicle films

Properly caring for vehicle accessories contributes to their durability and performance over time. Whether they are utility vehicles, popular vehicles, pickup trucks or SUVs, keeping maintenance up to date is essential to avoid mechanical problems and preserve passenger comfort during the trip.
The use of films is an alternative for owners looking for more protection once morest UV rays, reduced internal heat, privacy and improved vehicle aesthetics. However, over time, these films can suffer wear and tear, which raises the question: when is the ideal time to remove and replace films?

Expert points out five moments when you should replace window films

According to Júnior Ricìreta, CEO and founder of Multifilmes, a franchise network specializing in the application of high-performance automotive and residential films, there are five recommended times to renew protection products applied to the surface of vehicles.

Check out the tips:

• Fading and discoloration: Over time and with everyday activities, sun protection films can begin to fade and lose their original color. This affects the vehicle’s aesthetics and reduces the effectiveness of UV protection. This is the time to consider replacement;
• Bubbles and creases: Air bubbles or areas of creases that appear during routine use, especially if the films have been applied incorrectly or if the vehicle has been exposed to very windy conditions, affect the driver’s visibility and the safety of all passengers. In this case, damaged films must be removed and replaced more urgently;
• Visible damage: Cuts or scratches on the films may occur due to accidents or contact with objects during travel. This damage compromises the effectiveness of the films and also harms the vehicle’s aesthetics. It is advisable to replace them when possible;
• Loss of adhesion: As films age, their ability to adhere to the glass surface may decrease. This can result in loose or peeling edges, which is undesirable. When the owner notices some areas coming off, it is a sign that they need to be removed and replaced;
• Changing regulations: Automotive film use laws may change over time. If your vehicle’s products no longer comply with transparency or tint standards, they must be removed and replaced with films that meet legal requirements.
“The ideal time to remove and replace films on automobiles depends on the visible condition of the product, including fading, bubbles, creases, damage and loss of adhesion, as well as, of course, the current law”, recommends Júnior.

Fenabrave Research

In a survey released by the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), data shows that in June sales of new vehicles increased by 7.4% compared to May, totaling 189.5 thousand units. Furthermore, when compared to the same period of the previous year, the sector recorded growth of 6.4%.
According to Junior, paying attention to these signs and keeping the films in good condition preserves the vehicle’s aesthetics and guarantees its performance.
