“Now is the beginning of the era of slideable displays.”

Joo-sun Choi, CEO of Samsung Display, made a surprise appearance at the ‘2022 Intel Innovation’ event held in Senaj, USA on the 27th (local time) and unveiled the ‘Flex Slideable’ display and said this.

When President Choi, who went on stage to introduce Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, pulled one side of the 13-inch slideable laptop display, the screen increased to 17 inches. It was the moment when the world first introduced a form factor (device type) innovation that opens and closes left and right, unlike the foldable method of folding organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Intel also introduced the ‘Unison’ function, a software that can share phone calls, text messages, and photos between a Windows 11-equipped laptop and a smartphone using a slideable display.

On the same day, Intel also unveiled a new 13th generation core processor for PCs. CEO Gelsinger explained the flagship product ‘Core i9-13900K’ and introduced it as “the world’s fastest chip”. Intel plans to release six types of 13th-generation Core processors for PCs at the end of next month.
