Actress Mamta Mohandas said that many people approached her with distaste for her appearance change as part of cancer treatment. The actress also stated that this is why she decided to speak openly regarding cancer.
The actress made the revelation in an interview with IndiaGlitz Tamil. Mamta said that many of those who asked at first had no idea regarding her illness, but some came to know later and asked many insulting things.

I got cancer in 2009. Suddenly, everyone is seeing me with short hair. It was full boy. People hated it. He even told me that I don’t want to see you.
I am only 23-24 years old and all I see is attacking me. They don’t know that I went through a tough time and started doing films once more. They attack because they don’t know.
