Apertura 2024: When does the Guatemalan national tournament start?
National football is currently on pause, but the ball will be rolling again in August.

The world of football is currently at a standstill as two major tournaments such as the Euro Cup and the 2024 Copa América are taking place simultaneously.
Hundreds of millions of people around the world are watching the matches taking place in Germany and the United States respectively, but in Guatemala local clubs are in full preparation phase to compete in a new season.
Municipal defeated Deportivo Mixco in the grand final of the Clausura 2024 and put an end to a streak of almost five years without winning a title.
With its 32nd crown, the same one with which it equaled Comunicaciones as the most successful team in the history of Guatemala, Municipal took some time off but a few weeks ago returned to training ahead of the Apertura 2024 where it will seek to retain the crown.
When does the Guatemalan National League start?
The new national championship will start in about a month.
The Guatemalan National Soccer League announced a few weeks ago the first schedule for the 2024 Apertura and it was determined that The start of the championship will be on August 3, 2024.
A total of 12 teams, including the recently promoted Marquense and Zacapa (which bought the sporting rights from Juventud Pinulteca), will be in action on the first day.
Municipal will be the main candidate to take home the trophy as current champion, but teams such as Comunicaciones and Antigua GFC will also be looking to make a name for themselves.
