On the night of this Tuesday, January 30, the Benidorm Fest 2024 officially begins. The musical contest also functions as the Spanish pre-selection phase of the Eurovision Song Contest. The candidate from among the 16 finalists selected by RTVE who wins in the Alicante city will travel to Malmö (Sweden) in May. The three galas will be presented by Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Calderó and Ana Prada. The first semifinal will be broadcast on La 1 on TVE and on RTVE Play this Tuesday, January 30 at 10:50 p.m. (one hour less in the Canary Islands). The eight artists qualified for this evening will perform in this order and only four of them will advance to the final:
- 1. Lyric, with Astronaut.
- 2. Noah, with I miss you –
- 3. Sofia Coll, with Here to Stay.
- 4. Mantra, with You’re gonna see me.
- 5. Miss Caffeina, with Bla bla bla.
- 6. Quique Niza, with Prisoner.
- 7. Angy Fernández, I know who I am.
The second semi-final, also broadcast by 1 and RTVE Play, will be held this Thursday, February 1, starting at 10:50 p.m., with the following order of performances. Again, only four of them will advance to the final:
- 1. María Peláe, with Sender
- 2. Dellacruz, kiss in the morning.
- 3. Marlena, with Summer Love.
- 4. St. Pedro, con Two Strangers (String Quartet).
- 5. Jorge González, Caliente.
- 6. Yoly Saa, I don’t forget.
- 7. Roger Padrós, The weather.
- 8. Almácor, with Platinum glitters.
The final on Saturday, February 3 with the eight finalists will be broadcast on La 1 starting at 10:00 p.m. After each of the three galas, the first TVE network will expand its coverage with The night of Benidorm Fest. This monographic program returns with the same presenter as last year, Aitor Albizua (Ciphers and letters), who is joined by Inés Hernand. This live program will analyze what happened in each of the qualifying rounds, from various points, set, backstage and dressing rooms and will capture the first sensations of the artists following their classification. Also, interviews will be offered with the presenters, jury members and guest artists at each gala. They will be the ones who will conduct the first interview with the representative of Spain in Eurovision 2024 on Saturday morning.

Inés Hernand and Jordi Cruz return with the new season of Benidorm Calling. Through RTVE Play and from Benidorm they will broadcast specials prior to the three galas (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), starting at 8:30 p.m. They will review all the news of the contest, interview all the festival participants and give space to the fashionable TikToker, Rayo McQueer, who will have her own section.
On Friday, February 2, starting at 8:00 p.m., Carlos Peguer and Mariang Maturana, better known as la Pija and la Quinqui, travel to Benidorm to perform a special The Playz List of the Pija and the Quinqui with a live show titled Taste of Benidormch. For one hour, both presenters, along with their collaborators and reporters, Verdunch and Rayo Mcqueer, will analyze the festival from their particular point of view. Miki Núñez and Ladilla Rusa, among others, will perform live in Benidorm. It can be followed live on RTVE Play or seen later on demand.
