Antiofieva says, “The absorption of iron from plant products is much worse than from animal products due to the effect of tannins.” Therefore, if a person suffers from latent iron deficiency or iron deficiency anemia, follows a strict vegetarian diet, and controls the amount of tea he drinks. Three cups or less a day would be safe for him.
The doctor points out that tea contains caffeine, which consuming large quantities can lead to increased anxiety, tension, and insomnia.
