She is Angeliki, a victim of systematic domestic violence. For many years, as she complains speaking exclusively to MEGA, she suffered dozens of beatings by her ex-husband. The images of the bruises and injuries all over her body are shocking.
She endured the torture for the sake of her minor child, she says. The glass broke two years ago when her ex-husband went so far as to break her ribcage. That’s when the divorce came out and she filed for protective measures against him.
“I went to the hospital. It broke my chest, it had flattened me to the wood. I was treated at Attikon Hospital, I passed a medical examination. He was caught by the automatic procedure and got 16 months suspended. I want to address the prime minister who says women should come out and talk. I went out and found the courage and divorced. He sued me too he had two scratches and he got 16 months and I got 15. Since there were broken noses and violated restraining orders, should I get a sentence? This thing needs to be heard,” said Angeliki.
She fears for her life. 3 months ago she was attacked again, in the house where she lives with their child. Something that was repeated a month later, in June, with her ex-husband also installing an application to monitor her mobile phone.
“He came under my house, hit me. I went to the hospital again, diagnosis of broken ribs, dangerous physical injuries. They didn’t catch him immediately, so after a month, just as I managed to recover, because I was under lawsuits, he came to an event, cursed me, threatened me. In June he was caught in the context of the autoforo, he got seven months for threatening”.
She complains that her ex-husband has also abused their child, while she is seeking custody of him.
“The child had beaten him 1-2 times, just once he had beaten him so much that he was left with a psychological one. He was about eight years old.”
She holds tightly in her hands a file full of documents. It is the complaints he has made, the forensic reports and the courts that are running. The marks on her soul cannot be imprinted.
“It is the forensics that says the dangerous bodily injuries due to fractures and a series of blows from top to bottom. I was blue black in the wood, I couldn’t recover for at least a month.
