Meta’s AI is already available on WhatsApp in some countries, where it can generate images directly on the messaging service. Although Europe isn’t using it yet, it’s likely to be available in our countries in the near future.

According to WABetaInfo, development is progressing: following image generation, AI photo retouching is set to arrive on WhatsApp in the affected countries!

A new button will appear, allowing users to ask questions regarding their photos and request changes using a prompt.

As usual with WABetaInfo, this new feature is still under development and not yet advanced. It’s not currently available for beta testers. However, this doesn’t mean we’ll have to wait months to see it rolled out; generally, the development of features discovered on WABetaInfo is relatively fast.

It remains to be seen whether this functionality will soon be available in Belgium.
