Since its launch in 2013, WhatsApp’s voice messaging feature has been loved and hated by many people. Recording voice messages can save a lot of text input time, but listening to lengthy recordings is quite annoying. After years without any improvements, WhatsApp is finally bringing a major overhaul to voice messaging.
WhatsApp has announced 6 improvements related to voice messaging, and the new features will be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks. The six reforms include:
01) Pop-up Player – User can continue to browse and reply to other messages while the voice message is playing.
02) Pause during recording – Users can press pause during recording, and continue recording following thinking clearly, reducing pauses during recording and making the other party more comfortable.
03) Audio waveform display – you can see the audio waveform image of the voice message.
04) Preview before sending – Before sending a voice message, you can listen to it by yourself to ensure that the content of the message is correct, there is no wrong speech or the recording effect is clear.
05) Pause to continue – Leave in the middle of listening to a voice message, then click play to resume where you left off.
06) Playback Speed Adjustment – Provides 1.5x or 2x playback speed, greatly shortening the listening time.
