WhatsApp tests the use of two or more accounts on the same device

After starting to allow the same account to be used on more than one smartphone, the WhatsApp is working on the possibility of adding more than one account on a single device — feature already available in messengers such as Telegram and Messenger (by Meta).

As noted by WABetaInfothe functionality of multiple accounts in WhatsApp will behave similarly to what we already know in the aforementioned apps/services, adding to the app a new menu dedicated especially to managing the added accounts.

Once a new account is added to the device, it will stay there until the user chooses to disconnect it — which will allow them to easily switch between each account without having to configure it on the device every time they use it.

Until now, the only “official” way to enter a different WhatsApp account on iOS is by disconnecting the account already in use or configuring it in WhatsApp Business – which is nothing more than a kludge, since the user account must be converted to a business during the process.

Now, therefore, it will be easier to manage multiple accounts using a single app. This will allow users, for example, to set up an account for more personal use and other secondary ones for work, studies, etc.

The multi-account functionality was first seen in WhatsApp Business beta, but nothing indicates that Meta will restrict it to the business-oriented version of the app. Therefore, the beta version of the main app should also receive the news soon.
