In a new beta update released this Friday, WhatsApp is now working on a feature much requested by users: the option to respond to updates from a channel.
According to the folks at WABetaInfo, the improvement is present in version 2.23.20.6 for Android and works very simply, since any follower will be able to respond to the content of a channel.
Additionally, as you can see below, there will also be a replies indicator next to the reactions, indicating how many replies a channel update has received.
An important detail is that this feature will also have an additional layer of privacy, as it will hide the phone number of anyone who responded to a channel update.
This feature will finally add important discussion capabilities to channels, providing users with an additional tool to interact with other followers and the content they are engaging with.
For now, the improvement is still under development and may take a while to be released to everyone in the beta. On another front, the messenger has also been testing a new interface on iOS and more security features.
