One of the most used applications by most people in Brazil and other countries, WhatsApp It makes our life a lot easier with its many features. The application, however, does not stop trying to innovate even more and add new features, as well as make the existing ones even more complete.
This time, we have tests of some new features that should reach users over time, as we will see in more detail below.
Group call scheduling
The first one is the group call schedulingdiscovered by WABetaInfo in version 23.4.0.75 (beta) of the app. When tapping the phone or camera icon to start a call, the possibility of scheduling the call is displayed, as well as making it at that exact moment.
It is possible to choose day and time for the scheduled call. When the chosen time arrives, group members will be notified to join the call. The function is still under development and should reach users in future updates, and may receive changes until then.
Keep temporary messages
Another feature in testing — for several months now — is to keep messages sent with the temporary mode activated in the chat. Just hold the message in question and, along with the other options, the possibility to keep sending it even following the time established in the temporary mode settings will appear.
The icon that identifies the function is a marker; messages that are kept will be displayed in a list and this condition can be reversed by any of the chat members. If this is done, it will no longer be possible to maintain the submission. In groups where the settings only allow administrators to change information, this action will also be restricted to them.
In addition, it will not be possible to save messages sent a long time ago. According to WABetaInfo, there should be a limit of between 24 and 30 days for submissions to be held. The function, as said, is still only available to some testers and should arrive for users in the future.
Report Status
Finally, we have a less significant, albeit important, resource of report status updates. The function is also being released to some WhatsApp testers and basically allows publications to be reported to the application’s moderation for content that violates the terms of use.
Just tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen and the option appears above the one to mute someone’s updates. The feature does not affect the end-to-end encryption, which continues to work and prevents anyone other than members of a conversation/contacts and people who see the Status from having access to the content.
It is worth mentioning that the features are still in the testing phase and there is no forecast for them to be released to everyone. Don’t be surprised, however, if you find one of these functions in tests on your WhatsApp. ????
