WhatsApp tests change in the app’s interface for macOS

O WhatsApp released a new update for the beta version of its app to macOS which includes a change in barra lateralwhich has gone from a list of links (including chats, status, calls and settings) to a set of icons.

The new sidebar icons are equally intuitive, saving space and reducing interface clutter. They’re also designed to match the look and feel of the macOS interface, making it more cohesive with the rest of the system.

WhatsApp for macOS

As noted by WABetaInfothe new sidebar of the app for macOS is very similar to the version implemented in WhatsApp for Windows, indicating that the messenger wants to make native applications very similar in terms of interface.

The new sidebar update is available for some beta users and will be rolled out to more testers in the coming days.
