The ability to connect to WhatsApp through a proxy server has been available for some time to users of the Meta app. Now how noticed by WABetaInfoversion 23.13.0.72 is bringing the possibility of a more advanced configuration of this feature.
More precisely, it will now be possible to define ports for chats and media during configuration. This makes it possible to isolate traffic from other network services running on different ports, ensuring that this proxy operates independently, which will avoid conflicts with other apps.
When selecting the chat port, users will still be able to enable TLS (Transport Layer Security), meaning that the data transmitted between the person and the proxy will be encrypted. Still, they will remain private even if you turn this off.
The option is slowly rolling out to WhatsApp testers on TestFlight; in the coming weeks, this should happen to even more users enrolled in the beta of the messenger.
For now, there is no prediction of when the novelty will be released to everyone.
