WhatsApp testing feature to mute calls from strangers

O WhatsApp released another beta version, number 23.10.0.70, which brings some interesting news, as well as already includes the long-awaited message editing. As we reported earlier this week, WhatsApp is getting closer to implementing this function – which is already showing up for some people.

Other novelties were also observed in this beta version, such as a feature that allows silence calls from strangers, in the privacy option of the app settings. Despite bringing convenience, the function may — if actually implemented — make it difficult for people to communicate who have not saved each other’s contact, a very common situation on WhatsApp.

As for editing messages, according to WABetaInfothe mechanics of the feature in this test version are similar to what was seen earlier: it is possible to edit a message as many times as necessary up to 15 minutes following sending it, provided that this is done on the device through which it was written. More changes should occur in future versions.

Finally, we have news in the area of Communities. With the beta version, it became possible mention specific groups in the community announcement group, in order to get more attention from its members. A button has also been added at the top of the feature’s interface, allowing anyone to access all groups that are part of a community and for administrators to create new groups.

As well as editing messages, it’s possible that the other features will appear to more people in the coming weeks. However, it is worth remembering that these are functions that are still being tested and that they may also take longer to be implemented in the public version of WhatsApp or that they may not even reach everyone.

Let’s wait then!
