Sharing photos and videos from WHatsApp to other social media platforms could soon become incredibly easy. A new feature is in development that will allow users to share content with a single tap, without the hassle of downloads or manual uploads.
Effortless Sharing to Popular Apps
A convenient bar will appear at the bottom of the screen when you want to share something. This bar will feature icons for the most popular social media apps, including Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Snapchat. If your preferred app isn’t directly visible, simply tap the “More” button to access the full list of available options.
“This new feature will save us a lot of time and effort,” said the source. “No more unnecessary downloads, no more extra steps. We will be able to share our stories on Instagram and Facebook in an instant, without ever leaving WhatsApp.”
Dedicated Links for Channel Content
But WhatsApp’s sharing upgrades don’t stop there. The platform is also working on making it even easier to share content from channels. To share an update from a channel, the app will automatically generate a unique link, perfect for posting anywhere online.
Beta Testing Underway
For now, the new bottom bar has only been spotted in beta version 2.24.25.20 of the WhatsApp Android app. There’s no official word on when it will be released for everyone or if it will also arrive on iOS devices. However, WhatsApp continues to innovate, recently adding features like QR code sharing for channels and voice message transcription.
