The screen sharing feature of WhatsAppintroduced by Meta in August this year, may well be about to gain a very cool new feature: the possibility of also sharing the audio from music and videos during video calls.
The novelty was identified for the first time for the WABetaInfo in the beta version of the messenger for iOS, available on TestFlight (23.25.10.72). With it, the audio played on the user’s device is also transmitted to other people in a conversation, allowing participants to enjoy music or some other media together.
According to the website, the new feature is not compatible with voice calls and also does not work if the person has the camera turned off. As you can see in the image above, WhatsApp will show an alert on the device’s screen announcing the feature, which should be released to everyone soon.
Currently in development, this improvement promises more dynamic calls and a richer screen sharing experience.
