the CEOChief executive officeror executive director.”>1 yes Meta, Mark Zuckerbergannounced today through a video on Facebook a new feature that will allow you to transfer chats from WhatsApp between devices using just one QR code. The novelty, according to the messenger, is faster and safer than other existing solutions.
To transfer your conversations with this feature, which also includes media, just go to “Settings”touch “Conversations” and then on “Transfer conversations”. That done, just scan the QR code with the other device and wait for the process to be completed.
For the transfer to be completed successfully, both devices need to be physically with the user, connected to the same Wi-Fi network and have location enabled. Also, this transfer only works between devices with the same operating system, i.e. only iOS to iOS and Android to Android.
Until then, the only way to transfer your messenger data between devices with the same operating system was using backups in the cloud (in the case of iOS, through iCloud). Still according to WhatsApp, the data remains encrypted throughout the transfer.
