WhatsApp Messenger now offers voice calls with up to 32 participants

All regarding WhatsApp Messenger, which I think is unfortunately still too popular (App Store-Link) there is news once more. The update to version 22.8.80 is available for download in the App Store. Among other things, group voice calls have been expanded.

From now on, the voice calls should support up to 32 people, so you can call the whole bowling team or sports club at the same time. So far, a maximum of 8 people was possible. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to invite more people following the update, maybe something has to be activated on the server side first.

WhatsApp explains the new function including other changes as follows:

Group voice calls now support up to 32 participants and use a revamped user interface with a social audio layout, speaker highlighting, and waveforms.

The latest update also includes the following improvements:

  • The theme has been updated with voice message bubbles and info screens for contacts and groups
  • Small improvements such as accessing favorite media in the gallery have been implemented
