WhatsApp introduced new cool features

Several new features have been added by WhatsApp this month and the Facebook-owned app is set to introduce more soon.

Wabetainfo, a website that monitors WhatsApp updates, has reported on some of the features seen in the beta version of the application.

As the name suggests, this feature will allow users to mute a video sent to a friend or uploading a video in a status update.

Under this feature, when a video is selected, it will show a mute option and on selecting it, when the video is sent, the friend will receive the video without sound.

This feature will be quite useful as many times people want to prevent unwanted sounds from reaching other people when recording a video.

Relying on an editing app for this purpose is obviously not something everyone can use, so the feature will allow audio to be muted directly from the smartphone gallery, which will appeal to many.

It seems like a small addition but it will be liked by many people and it is expected to be available to all users very soon.

Another feature Red Letter is being worked on by the messaging application.

According to the report, this feature is not fundamentally new but will replace archived chats in WhatsApp.

Earlier in September, there were reports that WhatsApp is working on a feature called Vacation Mode, which is related to archived chats.

Currently, if a chat is archived in WhatsApp, it will reappear on the main feed when a new message arrives.

That defeats the purpose of moving chats to the archive, and vacation mode is meant to fix a bug that keeps chats in the archive.

Under this feature, the archive chat will be limited to this section only.

According to the report, now the archive chats feature will be replaced by a feature called read letter which will be better than before.

If a user wants to extract chats from the archive from Redletter, he will be able to extract multiple chats instantly from the archive, while a new option will be to edit archive settings.

If the user wants to, he can turn off the vacation mode with this new settings.

It is difficult to say how long this feature will be available.
