2023-05-18 10:00:00

Gone was the time when the WhatsApp it took years to release any relevant feature to its users. To give you an idea, only recently have we seen the arrival of reactions with emojis and the possibility of using calls with Picture-in-Picture (PiP).

More recently, the messenger released the possibility of block a specific chat using Face ID or Touch ID on iPhones. Thus, you can protect a conversation where there are more sensitive subjects, ensuring that it is well protected.

See below how to use it in practice! ????

How to block a conversation on WhatsApp

To block an individual conversation, a group conversation or those that are muted, open WhatsApp and select it from the list in the “Conversations” tab. Then tap on the name at the top of the screen and go to “Chat Lock”. Finally, activate “Block the conversation with Face ID” (or Touch ID, depending on your device). Tap “OK” and “Open” to see it in the section.

Meta’s application makes it clear that these conversations are blocked only on the device in question, in addition to the person’s name (or group) and the message content not being visible in the device’s notifications. Also, you’ll need to unlock the conversation if you want to automatically save media files to your gallery.

Where can I access blocked conversations later?

To view all blocked chats, go to the “Conversations” tab, swipe down from the top and select “Blocked conversations”. Authenticate and choose the conversation itself.

When you want to unlock a conversation, just tap the name at the top of the screen, select “Chat Lock” once more, and turn it off using Face ID/Touch ID.

Great news, don’t you think?! ????
