O WhatsApp is implementing a (good) additional layer of security to the conversation blocking feature, announced last May, with the so-called secret codes.
In short, the feature allows you to create a code (which may be different from the one you use to unlock the application) to hide blocked conversations, so that they only appear when the password is entered.
We are implementing the secret code to lock conversations on WhatsApp so that you can protect your conversations with a unique password. Now you can set your locked conversations to only appear when you type the secret code into the search bar, so no one can unintentionally discover your most private conversations.

As is already possible today, when protecting a conversation with a secret code, the user has the option of hiding the blocked chat from the main list — so that it can only be discovered by typing its secret code in the search bar — or keeping it visible among others.
Finally, when you want to block a new conversation, now just press and hold on it directly from the chat list (without needing to access the conversation settings/data screen) and select that respective option.
