In December, we announced that the WhatsApp I was testing the mode Picture-in-Picture (PiP) in video calls made through the iOS app. Now, more than two years following implementing the feature in Apple’s operating system, it has finally officially arrived in Apple’s app. Meta.
The novelty was launched in version 23.3.77 of the application, launched today in the App Store with this and other minor news that will increase the use of the application — which has been releasing good updates in recent months following “falling behind” in relation to competitors in basic features (such as Telegram).
With mode compatibility Picture-in-Picture (PiP) on iOS, now you can do more activities while participating in a WhatsApp call without your video being paused.
WhatsApp has also implemented text features, bringing the ability to add captions when sending documents and increasing character limits for descriptions and group names.
Finally, WhatsApp also started to allow the creation of a personalized avatar to use it as a sticker or profile picture. To make one, just follow the path Settings » Avatar » Create profile picture.
It is something similar to what is already possible to do with the Memojis no app Contacts, with various different poses and backgrounds available. The big difference is that it is not possible to create a pose with the iPhone’s camera, as in Apple’s software.
As always, features will be gradually rolled out to users. This means that it may take some time for you to be graced, or it may be that you already were even before today’s update.
